Job Description:  Tile: Assistant Activity Services Coordinator Reports to: Activity Services Coordinator Supervises: None Position Summary: Assists the Activity Services Coordinator to develop an activities program designed to address resident’s social, intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and vocational needs. Encourages, supports and motivates residents and staff to participate and even lead programs that interest them. Encourages family participation and interactions with the area community. Supports residents with nodalist program. Routine functions of the position:
  • Participates in the creation, planning and implementation of activities to meet the interests of all residents.
  • Contributes to the creation of a monthly calendar of activities and events.
  • Leads activities as needed according to calendar plan.
  • Monitors residents’ participation and interest in activities and solicits their ideas to support continued interest.
  • Seeks to find the motivation in each resident that will entice them to join activities.
  • Identifies community projects and opportunities that blend with resident interests.
  • Encourages family involvement in activities.
  • Obtains supplies and equipment as needed for activities and manages resources within budget.
  • Transports residents to outside events using company vehicles.
  • Takes part in orientation and coaching of new co-workers, family members and volunteers.
  • Contributes to resident wellness by offering observations of residents and by utilizing customer service plan to meet resident goals.
  • Decorates facility appropriate to season and events.
  • Collaborates with other co-workers in planning and managing events and activities.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Complies with Country Meadows policies and state and federal regulations.

  • Knowledgeable of physical and emotional aspects of aging.
  • Self-supervising and self-motivating; must be able to set priorities and follow through.
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple demands/ tasks concurrently. Must be adaptable and flexible enough to adjust to meet resident and staff needs.
  • Motivational skills, including the ability to positively influence resident and staff actions. Willing to cooperate and work as part of a team.
  Requirements   Work Environment:
  • Requires standing, walking, twisting, bending, pushing, kneeling, stooping, stretching, lifting a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Requires normal range hearing and vision, hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Must be capable of operating a variety of company activities-related equipment (ranging from passenger vehicles such as a 14-passenger van to office equipment, kitchen equipment, gardening tools, games and sports equipment.
  • Work place includes the entire building and surrounding grounds, swimming pools; all areas necessitated by off-site field trips and events.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: Prior experience in group socialization or recreational programs preferred.
  • Education: High school or GED.
  • Familiarity with computers preferred.
  • General: Valid drivers license with clean driving record and no major violations over the past five years. Should not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of self or others.
