(Monday through Friday) POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides an efficient and effective intake program for skilled nursing services by being a liaison between the payor and the skilled nursing division. Functions also as liaison between payor and branch office. Provides administrative support to Director of Skilled Nursing Services.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Functions of the Position):
1. Takes initial referral.
2. Checks eligibility, initial and ongoing.
3. Verifies insurance eligibility and determines risk relationship.
4. Obtains authorization and manages reauthorization process.
5. Assigns correct payor source.
6. Review patient's medical information.
7. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Required: · Must have active California licensed as LVN. · Minimum 1 year in Acute Care or Home Health setting.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: · Requires the ability to be flexible and multi-task. · Requires the ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with patients, families, customers and co-workers. · Requires the ability to fluently speak, read, write and understand the English language.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS OF THE POSITION: (Physical Demand, Dexterity, Mental Demand, Working Conditions) · Physical Demand: Light physical effort. For example, standing, bending, or stooping for extended periods, operating light office equipment, e.g., personal computer, copier, fax machine, etc., manually handling medium weight materials and/or equipment (0 to 10 pounds). · Dexterity: Light dexterity, e.g. using data processing equipment, long periods of standing/sitting, etc. · Mental Demand: Moderate to high degree of concentration due to volume, complexity, and/or “pressure” of work. · Working Conditions: Clean working conditions with no disagreeable factors.
