Responsibilities

What you would be doing:

• Facilitate and coordinate a wide variety of activities to meet the leisure, psychosocial, spiritual, intellectual and recreational needs of residents.
• Design and implement monthly newsletter and calendar to reflect a wide variety of activities to meet the leisure, psychosocial, spiritual, intellectual and recreational needs of residents.
• Assist in determining annual budget and maintaining monthly budget needs and accounting of purchases.
• Motivate and encourage residents to participate in activities and volunteer experiences.
• Assist with orientation program and follow-up of new residents.
• Supervises volunteer coordination.
• Establish community relations to ensure ongoing relationships between residents and community outside the facility.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of all residents to ensure said residents are participating in activities of their choice and abilities.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor degree or equivalent preferred
• Five or more years of related experience
• Certification by NCCAP (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals) as either Activity Director Certified or Activity Director Provisionally Certified with ongoing courses toward certification, or
• Certified Recereational Therapist
