Job Description:? The Nurse Aide provides nursing and nursing related services to residents consistent with each resident?s comprehensive assessment and plan of care. All resident care is provided in a manner that meets the resident?s physical, mental and psycho social needs and enables the individual to attain or maintain the highest practicable level of functioning. The Nurse Aide maintains a homelike? environment for the residents protects and promotes resident rights and assists the person to maintain independence and control to the greatest extent possible. Nurse Aides are directly supervised by the Nurse Supervisor positions that have the authority to independently evaluate and issue discipline to Nurse Aides for violations of personnel policies and procedures.


Licensure/Certification/Education Requirements:? Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy.? Successful completion of a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program, or a competency evaluation program approved by GA, within four months of date of hire.


Other Training, Skills, and Experience Requirements:? Prior experience giving personal care to impaired individual in a health care setting preferred.? Freedom from illegal use of drugs, and freedom from use and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.? Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a heath care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.?
