Job Description:  Responsibilities:
1. Understand the role and impact of software application information systems used in the healthcare industry. Knowledge of various software applications related to patient care and delivery.
2. Work with application customers to identify, develop, support and implement new features and solutions that will optimize patient care.
3. Understand industry standard interface protocols, reporting functionality, and quality assurance methodology in order to provide system compliance.
4. Facilitate the requirements gathering and workflow analysis.
5. Participate in quality assurance testing of new software releases.
6. Provide senior analyst level support for new software selection, configuration, and analytical production issues.
7. Function as the liaison between the vendor, customers and internal/external development areas.
8. Drive the process required to meet business customer requests, government regulations, or to build interfaces with other vendor systems.
9. Become an application system expert, focusing on system integration, reporting functionality, and quality assurance methodologies.
10. Participate on interdisciplinary project teams.
11. Provide demonstrations and support of software applications to internal and external customer base.
Qualifications: Requirements:
1. College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or management information systems.
2. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Demonstrable skills developing functional requirements and specifications.
4. Have the ability to handle complex and demanding situations that may have established deadlines.
5. Proven track record of analytical, planning, and negotiation skills.
6. Knowledge of governmental healthcare regulations.
7. Previous experience supporting healthcare systems and or patient care systems.
8. Ability to lead requirements gathering and design sessions with business users.
9. Ability to document business requirements, workflow, quality assurance scenarios/use cases, and turnover documents.
10. Proven project management skills.
11. Skilled in use of industry standard software/tools, e.g. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HL7, networking standards (SSL, VPN), report writing platforms (Crystal report writer, MS SQL enterprise and database query design), QA tools (Compuware, web app testing), and application programming languages (Java, VB, C++).
12. Successful track record developing/managing software installation and conversion.
13. Strong technical aptitude.
14. Occasional travel required.
15. Other duties as assigned.
