Job Description: 
  • The Psychotherapist provides professional individual and family, assessments, counseling, and treatment planning for Partners for Children (PFC) a program for medically fragile children, clients and their families, both before and after a death. The psychotherapist consults with the Partners for Children and CGCE interdisciplinary teams to benefit the plan of care. The psychotherapist delivers services in both English and Spanish.

    Education: Requires a Master’s degree, in marriage and family therapy, counseling, or other related mental health field. Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist in California required. Bilingual Spanish required (ability to provide psychotherapy in Spanish).

    Experience: Requires a minimum of three years experience of demonstrated clinical experience in psychotherapy, with adults and children, within a health care or social service agency or in private practice. Requires a demonstrated understanding of clinical assessment, DSM-IV diagnosis, and treatment planning. Must have demonstrated counseling experience with individual, and families and knowledge of the pediatric chronic illness and the dying, death, and grief process. Requires the ability to diagnose, treat and create appropriate care plans and the ability to appropriately document and maintain clinical medical and billing records. Requires a basic understanding of the interpersonal and collaborative dynamics operating within the working relationship of an interdisciplinary health care team. Works independently and with interdisciplinary teams. Is accountable for ethical and legal obligations of the counseling and mental health professions. Possess excellent communication skills. Basic knowledge or aptitude to operate a computer, knowledge of basic software programs. Current California Driver’s license and automobile insurance required. TB test required.
