Job Description:  • Genesis HealthCare managed LTC center, very conveniently located right off of I-85 at the Julian Road exit in Salisbury, NC.
• Approximately a 10-15 minute drive to Concord, 20-30 minutes drive to NE Charlotte/University area, 15 minute drive from Lexington, 15-20 minute drive from I-485 interchange, and a 30-40 minute drive from Mooresville, Huntersville, and Cornelius.
• 180 bed facility with 160 SNF beds and 20 ALF beds.
• Facility of choice in the area for short term rehab and receive excellent referrals from the area physicians and hospitals
• Rehab staff receive consistently positive comments on our post DC as well as LTC resident surveys
• Recognized in community for our aggressive and progressive rehabilitation department which consists of the following full time positions
• 2 Physical Therapists / adding 3rd to team
• 2 Physical Therapy Assistants
• 3 Occupational Therapists (one of these is the assistant program manager)
• 3 Occupational Therapy Assistants
• 2 Speech Language Pathologists
• 1 Lead Program Manager on site
• Rehab Tech and Rehab Office Coordinator
• 5 of the above employees have been with GRS for 14+ years - Almost all of the above drive 40-45 minutes one way and LOVE their work !!
• Offer the ACP programs, VitalStim, DPNS, and a multitude of other treatment modalities
• NOT your "typical nursing home" - Administrator and DON are extremely pro-rehab and rehab is embraced as an integral part of the facility

As a Physical Therapist / PT at Genesis Rehabilitation Services, you will:
• Use the latest assessment tools, clinical interventions and treatments with outpatient, short-term rehabilitation and long-term inpatient populations
• Teach skills that diminish or correct pathologies and restore, reinforce and enhance the performance of physical tasks
• Provide range-of-motion, strengthening and functional training to patients following joint replacement surgery to help them achieve independence in ADL and leisure activities
• Develop safe and effective exercise programs that improve function and reduce the risk of fractures in patients with osteoporosis
• Consult, evaluate and intervene to prevent skin breakdown in immobilized patients; heal wounds and prevent complications when breakdown occurs
• Educate patients diagnosed with a variety of illnesses to better understand and manage their conditions
• Use discharge planning skills to promote independence, maximize function and return patients to their homes


TPT1 Qualifications: Requirements for Physical Therapists:

Must have a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility.

Must have a Master's degree in Physical Therapy or a related field.

• For individuals who completed appropriate Physical Therapy education prior to January 1, 2002, with a valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice or proof of license eligibility, a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy (or related field), plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Physical Therapy will be accepted in lieu of the Master’s degree.

• A foreign-degree equivalent to the first professional degree, consistent with state licensing rules, will be accepted in lieu of Master’s degree.
