Director of Health Information Management

Glendive Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to provide leadership in our Health Information Management Department. Director of HIM is responsible for coordinating health information management services throughout the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring GMC is compliant with federal and state laws, regulations, and standards related to health information and coding principles; supervising a staff of eight(8), updating and interpreting policies and procedures; providing health information related education and training to employees throughout the organization; working with medical and facility staff on task forces and committees; and serving as an internal consultant in areas such as documentation, privacy, security, and other areas of health information management. Candidates must have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The Director of HIM also serves as the organization’s Corporate Compliance and HIPPA Privacy Officer.

• RHIA or RHIT certification required
• B.S. in related area is preferred
• Meditech and EMR experience preferred;
