POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director is responsible for overall operations of a given location or locations. Responsibilities

include, but are not limited to, Clinical Operations, Business Development and Census Growth, Financial

Control, Compliance with corporate policies and procedures and all state and federal regulatory standards and

all other areas of General Business Operations Management.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Support and promote the mission and values of Voyager HospiceCare, Inc.
  • Provide leadership and direction for all location employees.
  • Develop and meet all financial and growth goals for assigned areas of business.
  • Develop and implement annual goals, objectives and budget for assigned areas of business.
  • Manage location budget and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Make recommendations for cost containment.
  • Assist in the strategic planning process for the organization to help ensure coordination between operational goals and targets and the organization’s strategic and financial goals and targets.
  • Provide supervision for day-to-day operations of location.
  • Ensure that all areas of responsibility comply with all Federal, local and state regulations and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for all location employees.
  • Ensure fair treatment of all employees and work to improve employee retention and morale.
  • Responsible for oversight and participate in the recruitment, staffing, hiring, and retention of employees for all locations.

  • Develop and mentor all field management staff in assigned area, with special emphasis on mid-level
  • Voyager management positions and the establishment of bench strength for future growth of the organization.
  • Work with the Director of Admissions and the Admissions staff to continually improve admissions process and increase census.
  • Establish and continually maintain and improve the company’s reputation and positive image in the markets served.
  • Participate in the design, development and implementation of programs which contribute to the growth of the organization’s business. These programs may include marketing of existing programs or the development of new services or program areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Participate in the QAPI hospice performance improvement program.
Required Experience

Education : Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Health Care Management or equivalent. Masters

degree preferred.

Experience : Five years of progressively responsible experience in management including experience in a

Senior Management capacity. A minimum of two years experience in hospice and/or home health preferred.

Working knowledge of budget development, financial profit/loss process and human resources. Experience

managing sales function preferred. Ability to meet all state requirements for Administrator/Executive

Director position. Ability to travel as required

Computer Skills:

Excellent knowledge of Internet and Microsoft products, including excel spreadsheets for financial

reporting and analysis.

Certificates & Licenses:

Meet State requirements for licensing or certification, if applicable.
