Job Description:  Location: Damariscotta. A registered professional nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.  Also directs and guides patient teaching and the activities of ancillary staff.  Maintains the standards of professional nursing.  Collaborates directly with the medical staff in formulating a plan of care for the patient.  With a greater knowledge and experience base, the RN II is recognized as a resource for the Unit, working collaboratively or independently as necessary, as teacher/mentor and/or coach with patients, families, professional co-workers and ancillary staff.  Fulfills all RN I responsibilities.  Requirements include: Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited 2 year nursing school or program and 1 year related experience and/or training required. Bachelor's degree from four year school of nursing; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desirable.   Current Maine State Registered Professional Nursing license, Current Basic Life Support certification, Current (or within 3 months of hire) Neonatal Resuscitation certification, Certification in IV Therapy or proof of competency, Certification in Inpatient-OB desirable, Current ACLS certification desirable .
