The Medicare Benefit Consultant is responsible for prospecting and enrolling interested eligible beneficiaries, according to prescribed rules and regulations.  The Medicare Benefit Consultant presents Medicare Advantage using approved presentation materials at both in-home and seminar settings.  Additionally, the Medicare Benefit Consultant must meet the minimum enrollment goal of new members into the Medicare Advantage Plan.



 


Position supporting: St. Louis, Missouri and southern Illinois


Reports to: Senior Manager, Medicare Sales

Essential Functions:


  • Generate referrals utilizing sources other than support by corporate

  • Prospect for leads and convert to appointments

  • Utilize territorial model philosophy to maximize marketing efforts in attaining new enrollments.

  • Maintain disenrollment rate that is deemed acceptable from the company

  • Convert appointments into enrollments

  • Event planning

  • Achieve corporate enrollment goals

  • Ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone

  • Strictly adhere to all CMS and WellCare Marketing MIPPA regulations.

  • Performs special duties as assigned.


 Additional Duties:


  • Public speaking

  • Checking enrollment paperwork for accuracy

  • Public relations

  • Creating flyers, pamphlets etc.

  • Traveling to other territories

  • Conduct New member Orientations

  • Telemarketing 




Education/Experience:


  • High School Diploma

  • Medicare Sales Certification and Recertification

  • Missouri State Health Insurance License, required  

  • Valid Drivers License

  • 2-4 years sales experience

  • Event planning experience

  • Telemarketing skills

  • Public speaking skills

  • Public Relations  skills


 Computer Skills:


  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher 


 Physical Demands:


  •  Light lifting of marketing materials


 Other:


  • Must have excellent organizational skills

  • Must be goal and result driven

  • Must pay close attention to detail

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare regulations and programs

  • Ability to work flexible hours (i.e., events, etc.)

  • Required to use personal transportation for appointment with prospective members and events

  • May spend up to 90 % of time traveling with exposure to inclement weather and normal traffic hazards
