Under the direction of the individual physician's plan of care and supervision of a physical therapist, the PTA will perform home physical therapy modalities and treatments, with accompanying clinical documentation and patient follow-up. The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant performs duties in accordance of and under the direction/supervision as defined by the Agency's organizational chart. Education: Graduate of a 2 year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association; or has 2 years of appropriate experience as a physical therapy assistant, and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service, except that these determinations of proficiency do not apply with respect to persons initially licensed by a State or seeking initial qualification as a physical therapy assistant after December 21, 1977 (Medicare Conditions of Participation for Home Health Agencies). Experience: One or more years experience in an acute care facility or in home healthcare. Licenses/Certificates: Licensed by the state of practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Possession of reliable transportation, current driver's license, and proof of current auto insurance. Possess current CPR card. |
