The Clinical Medical Director provides patient care in the Inpatient Care Center, serves as consultant to the home care management team and provides physician care to home care patients, and is a faculty member of the teaching team.
Education: Must be an M.D. or D.O. licensed to practice medicine in the State of California. Must hold a D.E.A. registration certificate. Must be Board Certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Must be a member of the AMA and AAHPM. Must be a member of the CMA, SDCMC.
Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years direct patient care clinical experience. Must have comprehension of hospice reimbursement methodologies. Must have broad understanding of palliative medicine. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Ability to instruct in individual and group formats with teaching formats including lecture, discussion, patient or case based material, actual patient interaction, and interdisciplinary teaching. Requires knowledge of related JCAHO standards, Title 22 requirements and safety codes. Must have knowledge of and experience with all related licensing regulations. Requires experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, database, email, and Internet applications.
