Overview:

Horizon Bay Retirement Living is seeking a Director of Memory Care for our community in Lubbock, TX .



What you would be doing:

  • Responsible for the day to day operations of our Memory Care units
  • Development & maintenance of wellness objectives, standards of wellness practice, wellness policies and procedure manuals within the Memory Care units
  • Infection control policies & procedures
  • Planning, decision making and budgeting for wellness care services
  • Authority and responsibility of all Memory Care personnel
  • Coordinate with the Director of Dining Services to ensure residents proper diets
  • Documentation, written policies and procedures
  • Interviewing and selection of residents for admission
  • Keep Director of Health Services informed and be able to take on the Director of Health Services responsibility when needed


What are we looking for:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, gerontology, therapeutic recreation, nursing or a related degree
  • Two years experience in direct management in providing special care for persons with dementia
  • Strong background in assessing residents’ behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting their needs
  • Must be able to relate professionally and positively to facility staff and to work cooperatively with associates of all levels and to represent Traditions in the local community
  • Demonstrated abilities in organization, communication, public speaking, enthusiasm and effective interpersonal skills
