Position Description

At Suncoast Hospice, the Social Worker for the Center for Loss and Healing offers mental health counseling as it relates to bereavement for patients and families who are coping with a chronic or end stage illness or a loss due to death including sudden, unexpected, and traumatic loss including homicide or suicide.

Position Requirements

1. Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work/counseling/related field.  Prefer at least four (4) years experience in a social work position with emphasis on medical social work, grief, and bereavement related to sudden unexpected and/or traumatic loss.
2. Licensed in the state of Florida as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. 3. Specialized training in trauma reduction techniques including EMDR or TIR preferred.
4. The successful candidate must be willing to submit to pre-employment assessment of administrative skills.
