Job Description: 

New dynamic nursing leadership team in place, seeking qualified nursing management candidates to augment our professional nursing services available in this beautifully appointed skilled nursing/rehab center. 

 

Michiana Health and Rehab Center is seeking experienced, qualified, Registered Nurses to assist in the management of patient care units.  This position requires exceptional leadership capability and outstanding customer service skills.

 

 

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the DON, the Unit Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of residents.   Nursing care is provided through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.   The unit manager adheres to the standards of care for the area, manages the environment to maintain resident safety, and supervises the care provided by nurses, and nursing assistants and helpers.   Follows all Extendicare’s policies and procedures.   Performs duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act.

 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 

1.       Possesses a current license to practice in the State as an RN.

 

2.       Ability to manage and supervise a nursing unit.

 

3.       Ability to make independent decisions.

 

4.       One year of supervisory experience preferred.

 

5.       Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

 

6.       Meets all health requirements, as required by law.

 

7.       Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other facility staff..
